Author's notes: I thought it would be fun to write Dawn into the
plot.

Chapter 6: Crash and Burn
It was by pure chance that Joyce walked into Maggie's classroom mere
moments after one of her classes had ended. Maggie was cleaning up
her things when Joyce came storming in.
"You bitch." Joyce said angrily.
"Joyce." Maggie looked awkwardly around the room.
"You tried kill my daughter!"
"What are you talking about?"
"Buffy. You tried to kill Buffy."
Joyce watched as the recognition formed on her lover's face.
"Buffy's your daughter?"
"Yes. And you tried to kill her."
"She was in the way." Maggie said simply.
Joyce had expected anything but the answer she got. She had expected
apologizes, explanations, even outright lies. But she hadn't expected
the simple truth. Joyce hated the truth. She hated the coldness she
always knew was inside Maggie and she hated the fact that she still
loved the woman.
"Damn you." Joyce said with clenched teeth.
"I'm sorry."
Joyce felt her hands clench into a fist, "I'm sorry too. I'm sorry
that I once again fell in love with someone who has no soul. " Joyce
paused and let the anger flow though her, "I should know better by
now. I've been living in the god-forsaken town for too long then to
let myself fall in love, to let myself have a secret. Damn it,
Maggie, you tried to kill one of the few good things in my life."
Maggie just looked into Joyce's eyes, "I'm sorry."
Joyce turned around and walked out of the classroom but before she
left she turned around again, "You know you're students are right, you
are an Evil Bitch Monster of Death, I just hope it doesn't bite you in
the ass one day."
With that Joyce left the classroom and Maggie Walsh behind.
